-Taking the bus daily in secondary school and occasionally seeing this kid named Nathaniel Wong going home with his mom. This would continue till I was in JC and he started going home alone. Never talked to him.
– When Mark confided in me during bmt about how he made out with his girlfriend for the first time on that weekend. The last time we met he looked rounder from the lack of exercise and he repeated anecdotes that I had laughed at once before. Felt like watching a balloon float into the clouds.
– When we represented Athena’s Fac play, Bryan took my mic when I was supposed to take it to lead the cheer… Led to me appearing like a bloody lunatic yelling onstage which nobody heard.
– When Dad broke that glass that we got from the Arhat, he blamed me for putting it so close to the edge of the tray holder and not that he was rummaging through the cups in the dark. Confused me to hell because… This time, dad wasn’t right.
– Whilst doing guard duty, in the evening I’d see this tiny, boxy, dark blue car in the carpark next to the guardroom and an old man would be waiting until 7pm so that he could drive away in his off peak car.
– The Day in Amsterdam when I took a break from Yirui. Stayed in the room and cried to myself for an entire morning and watched the Bieber Roast on Comedy Central. The day before I confessed that I had a problem, and he was strict but concerned. Left when Isaac came back to head to the photography museum, and the modern art museum… I was enthralled at my loneliness and yet so empowered. North Korean photos were captivating too. Waited for the tram for too long and the sky faded into the negative and I headed back… First, walking… Then seemingly possessed with enthusiasm and frustration, I ran! I ran with my restricting coat, I ran with my bag slung across my back, I ran with the wind stinging my pale, bitten face and laughed to the bewilderment of the passers-by. Near our home, I found yirui’s gloves and silently praised all the deities looking down from above to lil ol me… As I reached the front door, Yirui came out as if he expected me, and we headed to the Asian restaurant and had a meal before their closing. It was a weird day, but besides Yirui’s seeming annoyance, I was happy it happened.
-That one time I went for Bound’s Xmas party. There was an improv session, and my cousins dragged me into it. “Be a bus driver!” I wrung my fingers and sat at the front seat, head spinning from and adding to the discomfort. They rattled off something about a scenario occurring in the background. “Everything… Everything okay back there?” I strained in an odd voice. Everything was blank afterwards, but I cringe to it sometimes. I have no idea if I did well or not.
